The Convention:\u00a0 Kumoricon 2014<\/p>\n
The Place : Vancouver Washington\u00a0 Hilton and Red Lion<\/p>\n
The\u00a0 Dates: \u00a0Aug 29 \u2013 September 1.<\/p>\n
Kumoricon is\u00a0 a Anime Convention in Portland and Vancouver WA area. This was my six year attending.\u00a0 Because it was a for day\u00a0 con, \u00a0it was all plushies on deck; all my big plushies \u00a0had a day as my companions.<\/p>\n

Friday: I got in to the convention area around\u00a0 9:00am. The line for will call pickup was very reasonable. I looked over the schedule , this year the pickings were slim. I end up getting into\u00a0 the line\u00a0 for\u00a0 Opening Ceremony. The ceremony was better this year.\u00a0 I did very little than \u00a0take in the convention and attend\u00a0 So, you want to run a panel before lining\u00a0 for the ANV contest. The contest had a very good\u00a0 line-up this year. The rest of the evening I was in and out\u00a0 of the art room and the Anime\u00a0 viewing\u00a0 room before heading home.<\/p>\n
Saturday:\u00a0\u00a0 Because of\u00a0 a\u00a0 recent\u00a0 controversy conserving Hello Kitty nature, I created a sign for my giant Hello Kitty Plushies. It said I am Not a Cat but a furry to the amusement\u00a0 of the attendees. \u00a0I watched some of the Pro-bending\u00a0 tournament , think of it as LARPing. The Behind the Mike panel , probably the only good\u00a0 industry panel this year.\u00a0 To keep cost down,\u00a0 made a picnic dinner then\u00a0 and managed\u00a0 get in on The Who\u2019s \u00a0Line Is It panel. I did some art jamming before heading to Salute! A Nod to Military Anime before calling it an day.<\/p>\n
Sunday:\u00a0 Head\u00a0 back to the con site after church, I attended\u00a0 the \u00a0\u00a0Attack on Titan with Patrick Seitz, Bryce Papenbrook and Christopher R. Sabat panel. I was disappointed. \u00a0I want more content than\u00a0 a question and answer period. Still I love how Christopher put\u00a0 a over enthusiastic fan\u00a0 in his place when\u00a0 Christopher world not \u00a0play along with\u00a0 Vegeta over 9000 meme.\u00a0 Next was on the list was the cosplay completion, again it have a very good line-up of skits and cosplyers. \u00a0\u00a0She rest of the evening I\u00a0 did art jamming or in the video room until the often rename panel. I left the panel,\u00a0 not carrying for the excessive vulgarity and call it a day.<\/p>\n
Monday: I had a case of the jitters I was doing\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0a back to back panels a one hour and thirty minute Otaku 25+ and The Furry and Anime panel.\u00a0 The\u00a0 Otaku over 25 attendance was down\u00a0 perhaps it was the morning. I\u00a0 had\u00a0 a half hour\u00a0 for final preparations for the next panel.\u00a0 About 5 minutes before start of the Furry and Anime panel,\u00a0 room was empty. I was thinking shades of Newcon and the panel was a flop, but the\u00a0 staff who was \u00a0controlling the line up\u00a0 came in and said it was ok to let people in; \u00a0I said\u00a0 yes and was supplied to see\u00a0 a flow of people stated to coming in.\u00a0 The people were lining up for the panel.\u00a0 I had\u00a0 55 to 60 attendees , half were not furry. The pane\u00a0 went\u00a0 well and I had very good feedback.<\/p>\n
I ate my lich and headed over for the closing ceremony. I Made my final walkthrough\u00a0 of the convention space before head back home drown my post convention blues in curry rice and anime.<\/p>\n
The Good; the\u00a0 convention was well ran. I love the AMV contest and\u00a0 Cosplay Contest.<\/p>\n
The Bad:\u00a0 Attack on Titan with Patrick Seitz, Bryce Papenbrook and Christopher R. Sabat panel, I was hoping for more information.<\/p>\n
The Ugly:\u00a0 The often Renamed Panel 18+ version, I was waned ; still I hope it was not going to be vulgar as it was.<\/p>\n
Overall I had a very good time.<\/p>\n
