The Convention:\u00a0 Kumoricon 2014<\/p>\n
The Place : Vancouver Washington\u00a0 Hilton and Red Lion<\/p>\n
The\u00a0 Dates:\u00a0 4 to 7 September 2015.<\/p>\n
Kumoricon is\u00a0 a Anime Convention in Portland and Vancouver WA area. This was my six year attending.\u00a0 Because it was a for day\u00a0 con, again\u00a0 it was all plushies on deck; all my big plushies\u00a0 had a day as my companions.<\/p>\n

Thursday and Friday: \u00a0I picked up my badge on Thursday. There\u00a0 was not much of a line . The next day I overheard somebody say\u00a0 it only took them an hour to register. It looks like the new system is working.\u00a0 If there\u00a0 was a theme this year it is\u00a0 was there was not much to do. I attend the AMV contest,\u00a0 it came across as \u00a0a little\u00a0 space. \u00a0I was hoping for more discussion than people blabbing about their favorite anime at the Salute and nod to military anime. At least, the often rename panel redeemed itself from last year 18+ vulgar fest.<\/p>\n
Saturday head back to the convention space after my traditional breakfast \u00a0at Hometown buffet. There was not much in the way of panels I wanted to attend except, Cultural\u00a0 Symbolism in Anime.\u00a0 I spent my time looking around and\u00a0 in the video room<\/p>\n
Sunday\u00a0 and Monday: I took in the Cosplay contest this year.\u00a0 Notable cosplay skit was No Face\u00a0 Sound Bites; it was that good and deserved best in show. \u00a0Monday \u00a0I \u00a0\u00a0hosted \u00a0\u00a0Otaku 25+ panel and bought\u00a0 a few things form the artist ally and\u00a0 dealers den.<\/p>\n
The good : Cultural\u00a0 Symbolism in Anime, No Face Sound bites skit and watching\u00a0\u00a0 My Bride is a Mermaid anime in the video room.<\/p>\n
The bad:\u00a0 I felt Kumoricon need more anime cultural and industry painless. In addition\u00a0 we only had one\u00a0 video room.<\/p>\n
The Ugly: we are leaving\u00a0 Vancouver.<\/p>\n

Ok, not ugly but a sad and necessary fact , Kumoricon is moving to the\u00a0 Oregon Convention center. With growth and the closing of the Red Lion, there is \u00a0no one hotel than can house the convention.\u00a0 Even in 2008, my first\u00a0 Kumoricon at Lloyd\u2019s \u00a0Center Double-Tree inn, I was 40 persons ahead\u00a0 of the cut off.\u00a0\u00a0 I want \u00a0to thank \u00a0Vancouver Hilton for treating us so well especially coming off the culture\u00a0 clash of the down town Portland hotel\u00a0 whose\u00a0 name that shall\u00a0 not be spoken. I want to give a thanks\u00a0 to the City of Vancouver for putting up with us taking over Ester Shore park; Ester Shores park will never be the same.<\/p>\n
