We had\u00a0 our furry meet up on Friday on opening night\u00a0 to see Zootopia at a local Portland area theater on March 4. We all enjoyed the movie. Normally I never see a movie on the opening weekend, I wait a few week before seeing it or wait until\u00a0redbox has it. I am also amazed how Zootopia\u00a0 has taken the furry fandom by storm. I do not believe \u00a0at no time\u00a0 a movie that was seen by the fandom in mass. Many fur groups organized meets at theaters, some groups rented the\u00a0entire theater for a private showing. \u00a0Over all I enjoyed the movie. \u00a0The message of tolerance was there but it was not preachy. What the media has missed is not Judy Hopps\u00a0 experienced bias but how she deals with, and it not like your typical liberal response, she went out\u00a0 and her best and 100% more instead of protesting for an entitlement.<\/p>\n
What really works for me\u00a0 was the details. Most furries scale\u00a0 animals\u00a0 to human size, what\u00a0 animators of Zootopia did was to\u00a0 draw the animals to natural \u00a0then\u00a0 scaled the world around them. \u00a0For example rodents\u00a0 have their own neighborhood and\u00a0 homes and transportation \u00a0are scaled to\u00a0 rodent scale.<\/p>\n
In other news I am very skeptical of\u00a0 buzzfeed and the claims\u00a0 that Disney\u00a0 is marketing\u00a0 to the furry fandom. After all we are relatively still a small fandom. It more like \u00a0both Disney\u00a0 putting out a movie\u00a0 and our furry interest has intersected. I also doubt the\u00a0 legitimacy of the so-called\u00a0 leaked letter. First of all it was not Disney but a third party promotion firm. I also been\u00a0 to the furlife site and have seen only one post\u00a0 about the letter.<\/p>\n
If one thing anybody should know about the furry fandom \u00a0is we are fans of anthropomorphic \u00a0\u00a0animals \u00a0in art, literature, role-play and cosplay. \u00a0Zootopia\u00a0 does represent the fandom in this; \u00a0\u00a0We create anthropomorphic\u00a0\u00a0 characters them \u00a0speculate the world like and they live in and how they\u00a0 react in this world through art, literature, fursuiting and role-play.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
