Socialized meds \/ Monopoly"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Out of loony Oregon will be another bus advocacy for single payer i.e. socialized medicine.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>From the press release\u201d<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>\u201c<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMAD AS HELL DOCTORS\u201d FROM OREGON EMBARK ON CROSS COUNTRY CARE-A-VAN TO DEMAND SINGLE-PAYER FROM CONGRESS\u00a0<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">PORTLAND, OR (8\/9\/09) \u2013 Frustrated with the health care \u2018options\u2019 coming out of Washington, D.C., six \u201cMad as Hell\u201d Oregon physicians are taking an unprecedented road trip across America to lobby Congress for a single-payer health care system. A big part of their plan is to take the entire country with them.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">Called a \u201cCare-A-Van,\u201d these road-tripping Oregon physicians will leave in a used motor home from Portland, Oregon on September 8<sup>th<\/sup>, inviting doctors and ordinary citizens from other states to join them on their twenty-city tour across the country. Their journey will culminate in a D.C.-based event on September 30<sup>th<\/sup>, scheduled to take place on the steps of Congress. Demonstrating with the doctors will be thousands of fellow \u2018Mad as Hell\u2019 single-payer advocates, all adorned with the movement\u2019s new symbol \u2013 the white ribbon. Their demand: <em>Single-Payer Now!<\/em><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">\u00a0\u201cWe\u2019re mad as hell because our health care system is run by people who profit from illness\u201d says Dr. Paul Hochfeld, lead Mad As Hell Doctor and producer of the documentary <em>Health, Money and Fear.<\/em> \u201cThe rest of the civilized world has test driven single payer and it works. But elected officials in America won\u2019t even allow a discussion.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">\u201c<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">The public option is a trap.\u201d\u00a0 Hochfeld continues. \u201cIt sounds very reasonable, but the problem with it, no matter what the final bill looks like, is that it will continue to allow private medical insurance companies to dictate America\u2019s public health policies. And that\u2019s just plain wrong<\/span>.\u201d\u201d<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><em>Where does my choice in helth care care fits in. Sounds like a plan to relive us of our rights to seek private insurance.<\/em> (my comment)<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Several national, single-payer advocacy organizations including Physicians for a National Health Program, Health Care Now, Single Payer Action, and even groups like Progressive Democrats of America and Jobs with Justice are supporting the Oregon\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It<strong> <\/strong>seems to be the same likely suspect as with most liberal advocacy.<\/p>\n<p>One \u00a0of the doctors on the a local radio station \u00a0explains the plan\u00a0 as rolling \u00a0our private \u00a0insurance, veterans medical benefits, Indian affairs medical \u00a0and Medicare benefits into a to a single payer. He say is not socialism but it see we have socialized government health \u00a0care or government regulated monopoly as the old AT&amp;T before the anti-trust United States v. AT&amp;T suit.<\/p>\n<p>A better solution Pay In Full At Time Of Service where we turn the clock back when we see the doctor and pay at the time of service. In addition, we couple pay in full with a private catastrophic insurance plan to handle major medical issues. Unlike single payer, the catastrophic insurance will run in the private market like auto insurance.
