I love it when\u00a0 a group of non liberal malcontents pull on over\u00a0 the liberal elite. That is what the group\u00a0 Sad Puppies\u00a0 have done. Not only submitting\u00a0 the awards nominations but exposing\u00a0 the hypocritical\u00a0 intolerance of the media and the left wing\u00a0 bias of Science Fiction\u00a0 and Fantasy\u00a0 liberal establishment. \u00a0The\u00a0 result on the left\u00a0 is pretty predictable:<\/p>\n

There been a lot of miss information. Sad Puppies\u00a0 and\u00a0 Rabbit puppies\u00a0 are two different groups.\u00a0 The \u00a0Rabid Puppies is\u00a0 the\u00a0 group ran by Vox Day and is not associated with the Sad Puppies. After reading\u00a0 Vox Day\u2019s posts. I have a hard\u00a0 time believing the person is overtly racist, \u00a0but more like a big government\u00a0 populist. \u00a0Not all of the Sad Puppies 3 nominees are conservative some are women and\u00a0 liberals. .\u00a0 I dare say the sad puppies slate show a greater diversity of writes from liberal to conservatives than\u00a0 the claimed by podcast\u00a0 like Escape Pod and\u00a0 the Nebula Awards.<\/p>\n
So how did we get into this mess in the first place. Like\u00a0 rest of the media The Hugo Awards nominations were directed by a small groups\u00a0 of\u00a0 bias Social Justice liberals. One year a writer Larry Correia got the nod for\u00a0 the Campbell award; there was one hitch, he was a Mormon , a gun store owner and defender of the second amendments. Because of his outside political \u00a0beliefs, \u00a0he was rewarded\u00a0 with a\u00a0 smear campaign. Not playing the victim\u00a0 he got a bunch of allies who ether were attendees or paid the $40.00 voting member fee, got a slate nominated for the Hugo Awards. The Sad Puppies we born (i.e the\u00a0 SFWA and\u00a0 Hugo awards shenanigans were making puppies sad) The SF Social Justice wing went nuts, showing\u00a0 there commitment to inclusiveness as long as\u00a0 one holds the right liberal political dogma The\u00a0 problem with\u00a0 making anything other than artistic\u00a0 excellence\u00a0 the standard is the acceptance\u00a0 of the subpar. I see very similar issue \u00a0\u00a0as an evangelical\u00a0 Christian\u00a0 who decries sad state\u00a0 of evangelical SF as nothing\u00a0 more than\u00a0 bad chick \u00a0tracks and end time stories. The same way the pandering \u00a0to so call diversity a la social justice and politics of indent \u00a0has resulted in awful 2014 Hugo short stories nominations; not one of the was Science Fiction\u00a0 and\u00a0 the sorry If You Were a Dinosaur, My Love is a travesty<\/p>\n
Recently Escape Artist\u00a0 Escaped pos\u00a0 has\u00a0 \u00a0demonstrated\u00a0 it own band of tolerance and inclusiveness\u00a0 by refusing to podcast\u00a0 Hugo nominees in the short story category this years as sown in an exchange I had with the assistant editor .<\/p>\n

This person has shown a gross intolerance and\u00a0 unprofessionalism. When\u00a0 Escape p Pod\u2019s start crying for more money because\u00a0 they think Escape Pod\u00a0 is\u00a0 so important , I suggest not giving them money but buy them a shovel to give Escape Pod a proper burial and let another take their place.<\/p>\n
The question is what for us to do?\u00a0 First we should not award intolerant behavior with our support, that about escape pod intolerance next time they beg for money.<\/p>\n
One of more interesting panels at Orycon was the history of the Fandom. What I take away\u00a0 is Science Fiction fandom is a product of schisms and immature drama . In the 1920\u20192 a group of young\u00a0 men would forma Science Fiction club.\u00a0 \u00a0Something\u00a0 would set the group off\u00a0 leading\u00a0 to four thee split and the group leaves the club and form a new club.\u00a0 Furthermore\u00a0 thanks to the\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0smug , immature elitism in SF, Furry and Anime fandoms\u00a0 would never be the large as they are when both were shown\u00a0 the door out of the SF \u00a0con for not being science fiction literature. \u00a0Amine fandom has far surpass\u00a0 Science fiction fandom, and \u00a0in many years the attendance of\u00a0 the Largest\u00a0 Furry Convention\u00a0 Antrocon surpasses the attendance \u00a0of Worldcon on given years.<\/p>\n
It is time \u00a0\u00a0for another split form the intolerant liberals sf \u00a0establishment. We do not need the warriors at\u00a0 SFWA and Worldcon.
