I Have Tasted Forbidden Fruit And It Was OK.

On an Internet fan made show I watch, the subject of KFC double down came up. The cast panned the sandwich with many catcalls with much reference to clogged arteries and heart attacks. I also had seen similar reports on network news shows. With all the commotion over a sandwich, I took it onto myself to have one for lunch. My verdict: not bad but noting to write home about and not worth all the hype emanating from self-righteous food critics.

This has me thinking, why allure of high calorie foods like the Double Down or the Heart Attack Grill. My theory is, in our hearts, we do not like nannies and naggers. Today we cannot escape it; open any newspaper, watch any newscast and one maybe told  how we are slowly killing ourselves by what we eat. We witness a parade a never ending modern day Carrie Nation Prohibitionist of food, with hatchets and studies in hand, nagging and scold us over the sin of high fat, sugar and salt. For some of us, food like the Double Down becomes our hooch and the Heat Attach Grill our speakeasy; a place  we can escape to enjoy the indulgence  of forbidden fruit and tell the busybodies to shove off and go pack sand with every bite.
