I feel the recent fireworks ban in Portland is part of the new normal of given the newly discovered power grab by government over COVID-19 Lockdowns (FYI the lockdowns case more harm and were ineffective). I was watching the Portland fire chief explaining his action; I saw the same panic ridden urgency and exaggerations as I did during COVID-19.
There is a better way than just banning them like setting up designated locations for some to set off legal fireworks.
I propose an act of good old American civil disobedience . Every housed grab a legal firework fountain and at 10:00pm set it off at the same time.
How to skirt the fireworks ban. One can purchase fireworks, and wear Antifa label clothing and when some one asks, they can say I am protesting injustice.
