Happy Thanksgiving

[New York, 3 October 1789]

By the President of the United States of America. a Proclamation.

Whereas it is the duty of all Nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey his will, to be grateful for his benefits, and humbly to implore his protection and favor–and whereas both Houses of Congress have by their joint Committee requested me “to recommend to the People of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many signal favors of Almighty God especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness.” Now therefore I do recommend and assign Thursday the 26th day of November next to be devoted by the People of these States to the service of that great and glorious Being, who is the beneficent Author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be–That we may then all unite in rendering unto him our sincere and humble thanks–for his kind care and protection of the People of this Country previous to their becoming a Nation–for the signal and manifold mercies, and the favorable interpositions of his Providence which we experienced in the tranquillity, union, and plenty, which we have since enjoyed–for the peaceable and rational manner, in which we have been enabled to establish constitutions of government for our safety and happiness, and particularly the national One now lately instituted–for the civil and religious liberty with which we are blessed; and the means we have of acquiring and diffusing useful knowledge; and in general for all the great and various favors which he hath been pleased to confer upon us.

and also that we may then unite in most humbly offering our prayers and supplications to the great Lord and Ruler of Nations and beseech him to pardon our national and other transgressions–to enable us all, whether in public or private stations, to perform our several and relative duties properly and punctually–to render our national government a blessing to all the people, by constantly being a Government of wise, just, and constitutional laws, discreetly and faithfully executed and obeyed–to protect and guide all Sovereigns and Nations (especially such as have shewn kindness onto us) and to bless them with good government, peace, and concord–To promote the knowledge and practice of true religion and virtue, and the encrease of science among them and us–and generally to grant unto all Mankind such a degree of temporal prosperity as he alone knows to be best.

Given under my hand at the City of New-York the third day of October in the year of our Lord 1789.

My Republican Divorce 1992 to Nov 6 2012

Today I made good on my threat ending my relationship with the Republican Party and reregistered as a refusenik, (independent). I was inspired by the mainly Jewish movement that   stood up again a corrupt Soviet Communist System. In Oregon we can put anything in the other column.

My reasons for leaving are first the  string of losses in Oregon form 200 to 2012 because of ether Oregon  GOP not  filling a strong candidate or campaign mismanagement, relying on  phone baking and  singling occupancy homes over high density apartment and condos in my area.

Second reason is Immigration disaster.  On  Jun 16 Issue of National Review  published their anti immigration issue. On article Electing a New People by Peter Brimelow & Edwin S. Rubenstein, both are known white supremacists, suggested with the with  immigration rising and voting democrat and  white birth rates  falling, the solution is to restrict the influx of non what immigrates. Not only this strategy is racist but out right illogical. Both failed to note the rising population of Non-white native born vote vs. declining White population. An equivalent would be in a sinking rowboat, one rectifies the situation by shooting more holes in the boat.  The Republican conservative base took the bait and started espousing immigration reform in a form reminiscent of Orwellian Double speak, by saying reform, but really mean ending immigration. The demonization of Hispanics drove minorities, and fair minded whites and evangelicals to the democratic resulting GOP losing control of power in California and eventually in the US.

Finally  I just go sock of  busting my but for  a not perfect but reasonable GOP  candidate  to only get shot down by conservatives  in the Republican party. I tried my hardest to reason with them but the social  conservative would rather throw away their vote and then have the audacity to complain when the liberal wins.

Obama Fail: Giving Romney the Bird

By now most heard Mitt Romney point about want to test everything in the budget as is the program  it worth it to borrow more money from  the Chinese to pay for it; for PBS /Big Bird the answer is no; I agree with him.

Let is look and compare Big Bird with another famous Cartoon Charter.

Big Bird Vs Dora the Explorer

Big Bird Vs Dora Explorer

Big Bird Dora the Explorer
About Educational and Entertaining  leans toward education Educational and Entertaining  leans toward Entertainment
Promotion and toys Live show production, toy available  through  major toy stores Live show production, toy available  through  major toy stores
Net worth $300 Million (Children’s television Network) Over 1 Billion or $100,000,000 a year
 Government Subsidies  $8,000,000  NONE

Dora the explorer and Diego both do not take government funding yet put out an equivalent if not more entertaining product. Furthermore I do not see Disney’s line of shows feeding at the government trough.  Giving eight million dollars to Children’s television workshop makes much sense as giving the same eight million to a successful Wall Street Bank. Put Sesame Street on the block could generate a bidding war between Disney and Viacom. Productions firms can move Sesame Street and shows like Thomas the Tank Engine and other shows to Nick Jr. and other channels that cater to under five year old crowd. Look at another staple of PBS fund drives: Doctor Who: The new Doctor Who is very popular in the private sector and do not receive US tax dollar funding. Now add to the argument the growth of steaming videos via I-tunes, Hulu and Netflix; I say that PBS is becoming obsolete and unnecessary, and ripe for privatization. It time to let Big Bird migrate to the private sector.

Election time again: ‘America for Jesus’ Rally Draws Crowds and Concerns

It is that season again, the air gets colder, the news on the presidential election is nonstop, and the heretics proclaim our sacred duty to vote (and the right way) less one fall into “sin”.

The Christian News Network via the Do not be surprised blog had done a great job reporting on this travesty of American Idolatry.  The event featured a who’s who of bible twisting and word of faith heresy and with a good dollop of Dominionist theology

Mr. Macavage offered the best and most offensive morsel in the article:

“In the words of Charles Spurgeon, ‘Of two evils, choose neither,’” he said. “Christians must turn from the endless cycle of voting for the lesser of evils and expecting an unrighteous act to produce a righteous result. From a communist to a cultist, choosing the lesser of evils is still evil, and never should we do evil that good may come.”

“If Christians continue sinning with their votes and working to elect those who do not fear God, then our nation will continue to suffer His judgments,” Marcavage added. “The Scripture clearly warns, ‘Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.’ We must not vote in the fear of man, but in the fear of God, and trust in His sovereignty.”

First, I am a betting Macavage miss-quoted Spurgeon. In our internet driven world I can find the quote but not the context.  Marcavage may want to read Frank Turks article:  Math and Election to see the utter fallacy; by not voting for the better the Christian guarantees the worst.  The second is very grievous false teaching. It pure, industrial strength, law without gospel: do this or else. This is not the Gospel of  you failed to fulfill ALL of the law because you are in sin but Christ died for that sin an now brings you to now life only through faith and that faith is a gift of Christ(Ephesians 2:8).  Where does it say that the Christian is sinning not voting for “god fearing leaders”  Macavage offers the typical  bible twister copout by saying “the scripture say” but never once opens the scripture to shows  us what the scripture says.

If anything it shows an ignorance and or confusion of the two kingdom principal. God rules from two distinct kingdoms: the Civil and Heavenly kingdom. The Civil kingdom is made of both Christians and non Christians, promoting the common good, civil order and justice, and is temporal. The Civil Kingdom will end in the last days when Christ returns. The Heavenly Kingdom is only made of Believers brought in the grace of God, by faith, by the work of Christ alone and is eternal.

Once can find a good short description A Two Kingdoms Primer at the Riddleblog

What this means is, as Christians, we have dual citizenship, both heavenly and Civil Kingdoms and we can work for like minded non believers for the common good. This is the reason why I can work with and vote for agnostics like Roland Reagan, George Bush and will vote for the non Christian Mitt Romney or when I was a Republican Precinct Person.  On the other hand if American of Jesus wants to suggest a “god fearing “candidate, then I am obliged to judge that candidate beyond the standard I set for secular candidates. I would have ask dose the “god fearing” the candidate correctly handles the word of God;  it is why I could not in good faith vote for Pat Robinson because of his charismatic preaching and conduct contradict sound understanding and interpretation of scripture..

It is bad teaching like this is why I had to leave the Christian conservative movement, it was no longer Christian. I we want to change America we need to be preaching Christ and Him crucified not the false gospel of politics of America for Jesus.
