Hello! Exploring the Supercute World of Hello Kitty

I went to  the  EMP mainly for Hello! Exploring the Supercute World of Hello Kitty exhibit. I had been to the  EMP  museum in the past  when it was just Music and Science Fiction Hall of Fame.  The really  renovated  the museum  taking parts of  the Science  Fiction and music Exhibits and tuned  in to  a pop culture exhibit space including Infinite Worlds of Science Fiction,  Fantasy: Worlds of Myth and Magic, Can’t Look Away: The Lure Of Horror Film and the Sea Hawks We Are 12 exhibit.  The sky Church screen stopped me in my tracks . The studio and interactive  music studio is still on the third floor.  What was supposed to be just a few hours for the Hello Kitty Exhibit turned into a all day event. Well worth the time.

My only gripe is the location of the Science Fiction Hall of fame, it should have a more dignified space.

Hello Kitty Cafe Truck visits Portland Oregon

I Suspect Portland is a whistle stop on the way to Seattle for the opening of Hello! Exploring the Supercute World of Hello Kitty at the Experience Music Project . I picked up a mug and macarons later, I shared, in the spirit of Hello Kitty with friends at the mall furmeet.

Hello Kitty Supercute Festival Cancelation

The mystery deepens

“Alas, the tour went kaput. A spokeswoman says VEE, the company overseeing the festival, decided not to continue with the fall/holiday leg. VEE “was acquired just as the tour launched; the new ownership had a different vision for the organization,” she says.”

All  along was it VEE intention to walk away from the tour?  Sanrio at times  misses when picking  partners for collaborations .They are great for retail products like Tokidoki   and Loungefly, but  miss the mark  when it came to game like Aiea games for Hello Kitty Online and  VEE corporation for  Supercute  Festival. What puzzling is why, VEE does the  Sesame Street traveling  shown, that attract the same number as the Hello Kitty Supercute  Festival but  Hello Kitty  is not.  Is it because Vee doesn’t care to do interactive shows but prefer higher per show attendance volume stage shows?

Over all Sanrio made a poor choice partnering with VEE.  Still we can hope Sanrio  can fine a new partner or push it to Sanrio Entertainment.
