Having A Get Off My Lawn Moment

The cane and clothing from New York makes me looks older.
Actually, my get off my lawn moment is about how Hello Kitty Online had become an insult. It is sad; I just did a Google search and confirm go play hello kitty online has became and insult, very different from 2009 when there was an interest and buzz from the gamer community. The biggest error was braking up the servers to different regions and outsourcing distribution to outside companies like Aeria Games. The decision to outsource had lead to a delayed beta and loss of momentum. In addition, it broke up the international socialization of the game and unnecessarily segmented the market. Other issues are, as other seen, the lack of advertising and not promoting and linking to Sanrio stores and events. HKO should been promoted though the Sanrio 50th anniversary events especially the LA and Miami events. Getting celebrity and their kids endorsements would do wonders.
How I would save the game. First, consolidate all servers to language groups. Second link promotions to Sanrio stores, store purchases can lead to earning coins. Finally fix the social networking aspect. Make guild mean something.

End of an Adventure?

When I completed the Little Twin Star quest, I was told to see Mimi to help save Hello Kitty; at that time, I knew I was on the final arc.

The first series of quest was to build a detector and find the key. It was easy and soon I found the key; but it did not work. The key need a magic spell to restore function.   I need to craft need three items.  The quest, arc was in three parts that took me back old haunts, monsters, and NPCs in London, Paris, Florapolis, and Sanrio Harbor.  It was to me a mini-review of my quest in the past year

Hail and Farewell

It’s been a while since I did a HKO post. 31 May was the last day of Hello Kitty on line Area Games I decided to take a few pictures as say goodbye to Aeria and Hello again to Sanrio digital.

First up is my avatar developed over the Aeria Game’s open beta. I won the shirt at the birthday event and I replace the silly stone hate with a bandanna. I guess I go the Kung Fu look down or a black Willie Nelson. It took me a while to get back to the look I had during the Founder’s Beta.

Next, the inside of my mud hut I got from a London quest. I am little low on Loyalty points, so I got the more important items for a bachelor: a chair and a refrigerator for the beer.

Finally, a screen shot of a few of us with a few GMs

To the Areia GM goodbye and Godspeed. To the rest see you all in a few days.

New Patch for NA Players?

It looks like somebody was listening in NA the new patch has made the monsters easier to KO, lower the damage hits for monsters, and reduced the prices of seeds. I have some mixed feelings we are back to monsters being to easy to hit. I hope we not back to the very weak monsters of the close betas.

Then again is there anybody who was playing the Founders Betas and events. I remember there was a point as I completed quest and my level grew higher I was able afford better equipment and the monsters became less powerful to where spiders attack did not harm me. The  Founders beta was the best model for the monsters, difficult in the beginning but growing easer as the play progresses; give something for the player to work for.
