Netflix’s Shortsighted Cronyism

I like Netflix but I am bother cronyism by the CEO. He wants the providers to upgrade their networks at their cost for Netflix benefit. The problem is Netflix needs to be careful, in regards of government regulation; be careful what you ask for you may get it: an open, price controlled, highly regulated, slow, congested internet. In the history of the regulation, regulation impedes innovation.  If Netflix want a fast net for 4K then they need to pay up in a free market or go out business.

Conservative Room to Grow: Limited Government, Singles, Empty Nesters, Married no Children, Need not to Apply.

Recently the Conservative wing produced an over long, 120 pages, manifesto called Room to Grow. Looking at it   sound something that came out of and Soviet Union: to fix the nation economic woes we need to get married and have more babies. The manifesto panders to the middle class, bashes corporations, ignoring rich and poor, childless couples, empty nesters and singles. It hardly a prescription for economic grown but a perception for social engineering and expanding the role of government.  None programs mentioned in document promote economic growth: i.e.  lower taxes, lower spending and reduce the size and scope of government. Actually it does the opposite; it grows government in one area while claiming decreasing welfare and increases spending.

Happy Birthday America

“I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated by succeeding generations as the great anniversary festival,” he supposedly said. “It ought to be commemorated as the day of deliverance, by solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty.

“It ought to be solemnized with pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires, and illuminations *, from one end of this continent to the other, from this time forward for evermore,”
Attributed to John Addams after the adoption of the Decoration of Independence in July 1776.
* unfortunately we a banned from getting real illuminations  500g and bigger and high flying with a widow shattering boom. ;) Oh yes he said guns.

Donot Be Suppised it Wrong

I did not make approval of the writer of another blogger over Gay Days’ at ‘Family-Friendly’ Disney. The article confuses me. I agree with her at the statement of the Gospel, but it seem to be tacked on at the end tack on at the end.

“As headlines such as this become more and more common, then, the Christian must not lose heart. It is not the job of the Christian to redeem the culture and to make this world a comfortable place to live. It is the duty of the Christian to proclaim the gospel, calling men and women to repent of their sins and trust in Christ alone for salvation.”

My problem the argument is how she got there even where, in my opinion, seem contradictory. First she quotes the American Family Association’s yearly and vain rants on Gay Day which seems like she agrees with it. The ends with the statement quoted above I disagree with the statement and replied. Her response to my reply as follows:

“This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.”
