Responding to Internet Trolls, Politicians and Litterbox Hoax

If 2022 is not bad enough, I need to raise an alarm be over ignorance and internet trolls and activist playing gotcha, and discredit undiscerning conservatives, by using hoaxes used to troll fury fandom.

The hoax goes like this: school X, to accommodate a set of students who identify with and act like cats, is placing litterboxes in restrooms. Conservative activists, parents, and media have taken the bait, thinking they have a juicy piece of information, raise the alarm based on this hoax. Finally liberal media says gotcha it was a hoax and in more recent articles, go on a diatribe on identity politics and supposed “homophobic.” “transphobic” conservatives.

The prank and tactic started in Michigan in January and now spread to many states including my own.

There are three reasons for the reaction from conservatives. First conservatives are getting jumpy over significant issues like CRT, and sexual identity and how school officials obstruct and bypass involvement by the parents; it easy for a conservative to jump the gun and fall for a hoax. Second is conservatives needing to find a hot button issue to hold and motivate one’s politician’s constituents and a way for conservative talk host, activist, and media to gain attention, clicks and subscribers. This obsession with outrage has left the pundits and conservative politicians open and vulnerable to these furry hoax campaigns. Finally, the steady diet of low conservative talk radio then Trumpism has left the conservative party as an ant-intellectual movement, a movement based on feelings and appeals to emotionalism but lack intellectual discipline, principals, and the inability or unwilling to decern truth from false information’

To my conservative friends, I am furry. Furries are fans of anthropomorphic characters in art, literature and fursuiting (cosplay). Some Furries are school age and should have the same opportunity for artistic expression like band and drama clubs in school. Furry is not a sexual identity.
