Panels I plan or think about submitting

Furlandia

I plan to  bring  from  Kumoicon , Furry and Anime panel

Another panel I think and panel  to do is “ Beyond the furcon:  being a furry  at  other  conventions and  geek communities.  As you see I go to  many different fan con a year. This we discuss stepping out  and  being fur at other conventions  and  geek communities. I am looking  for  other furs  who attend other cons like Radcon, Sakuracon,  Norwescon, Ever ree NW, and other NW  fan conventions.  I am so look fur who are also involved with Anime, science and Steampunk communities. How does  one integrate furry  into other communities.

Kumoricon

Otaku Over 25, a panel for  older fans. I have one recruit but looking  for other especially in planning and topics. I real need more than  filling a seat on a panel.

Furry and anime 2?

Explaining Furry.

Christians and the furry/punk/steampunk/Ren Faire/cosplay lifestyle My response.

In an article in Blogus  Anthony  is trying   to address can  Christians   be part of an alternative subculture such as Steam Punk, Furry Fandom and Cosplay.  As a Furry, Science fiction Fan, and Anime fan, I feel he  his heart is in the right place but ultimately  wrong.   The  article contains  many  miss-quotes of scripture  or inferring an  Indicative (proclamation why we are ) in 2 Corinthians 5:17 and infer it as an imperative (a command) or taking a narrative  verse like 1 Samuel 16:7 and trying to principal.

I believe  this person main point it this “Basically, there’s no verse against dressing up in costumes, nor are there laws against it. The issue is not necessarily the act, but how it may hinder our ability to spread the gospel and live a life that glorifies God. I”  The problem  is this person does not  give a proper scriptural bases   but defaults to legalism  by   moving the goal  post from  what  clearly God objectively calls  sin ( 1 Corinthians  6: 9-11) and applies it to  thing that are not specifically spoken in scripture. In another sense , has scruples because of is  his past punk lifestyle and tries to elevate his scruples  as a command to the Church. A problem explain in RC Sproul wonderfully lecture the Tyranny  of the Weaker Brother.

I also get the feeling  this person   does not  have knowledge  what the fandom are about, there is a vast difference between a  anti-authority  Punk and the aesthetics and literature  of the Steam Punk subculture.  At the heart of his argument is  the long  debate  between Liberty and Legalism, with respect to those than are adiaphora, that is  thing than are indifferent  were the  bible doesn’t speak.  The truth is  as being part of a subgroup  the bible does not  speak specifically of it. While we are free  to  partake of any fandom .  Yet  we are to come aside one who is weak  Roams 14 (even through Pastor Fisk  points  this does not apply as many , but in balance the weaker  brother cannot  make ones scruples  a law for the church; that would be legalism.

Comic Book Wife Hate con Attendees and Digs Holes

a replay:

Ms. Dorman is off base blaming Cosplyers for her husband’s lack of sales. It sound like bad business planning is the problem. She need to do your homework, researching the market, figuring out ROI than scapegoating cosplayers. San Diego Comic con needs to have a name changed, it more about pop culture than comics, that is why I want to attend. I only had one and now only experience in attending a Wizard’s World, in Portland. My feeling it only exist to pimping celebrities for a price of a photo or an autograph. The panels except for William Shatner were dismal and the only cosplayers held any interest for me. I would never attend again. If I was in the comic business I probably not attend on as a dealer. As for launches an publicity the internet has change marketing not only for comic business but also other markets . No longer a company has to go to a trade show or comic con but have a media streaming event. Two examples are Funamation did not go to an Anime convention to announce Attack on Titan part 2 or Microsoft did not go to a trade show to announce Windows 10 but both had a media steaming event on the net. Finally the market has changed; the younger generation are on the internet are more multi-media. Think of the decline of books stores. Comic book are a niche market not served in big media or celebrity centric cons. A true comic convention or show could fit in a hotel’s ball rooms with rooms to spare. Her and her Husband need to change thier business strategy, more blogs and smaller shows, and social media.
